Free Script Telemarketing to Book an Appointment

Hello, may I speak with __________ please? Hi ___________, it’s __________ calling from ABC Alarm Company. How are you this evening?

Recently, ____________ (name of referrer) took part in our Home Safety Program that we are conducting for selected families in the _________ area. They have been kind enough to give your family the same opportunity.

I’m sure you are aware of the crime situation in your area. Due to the overwhelming response we’ve received from families, we are now running local programs.

We come out to see you and run you through our Crime Awareness Program and leave you with a personal attack alarm which is totally free to you. I’d like to stress that you are under absolutely no obligation to buy anything, we just feel that this is a nice way for us to introduce ourselves to you, so that if now or in the future you think of Home Security for your family, we hope you will think of us….that’s fair enough isn’t it?

Great! Well like I said, your family has been given the opportunity to have one of our consultants come out to you.

We generally visit families in the evening, as most parents we speak to work during the day. Is this the case with yourself? What kind of work do you do? Do you have a partner? Do they work during the day? What kind of work do they do?

It is our company policy to visit at a time when both yourself and your partner can be home together and be involved. We are making times for our consultants who will be in your area tomorrow. So tell me, would __pm or __pm suit you best?(Set appointment time and confirm name and address – nearest cross street)

Now as I said, our consultant can only run you through the program if everyone is home and able to be involved, so I would just like to confirm that you will both be able to commit to an hour at that time?

So you know this is a genuine call, I will leave you with our details. Do you have a pen handy? I am from the _____________ office. Our office phone number is ________________. If you could write down that time ___pm tomorrow and maybe mention it to your partner so that everyone is ready to be involved.

Well __________ it’s been a pleasure speaking with you, thank you for your time, and we look forward to meeting you tomorrow at ___ pm. Have a nice evening……….BYE

Free Script Telemarketing – The Rundown…

You will notice that this telemarketing script was for calling a referral. This means that this client has had no contact with you previously, so we have to set up a level of trust and interest in what we do. But we want to do this without making the client feel that they will be obligated to purchase anything.

The purpose of this call is not to sell, but instead to set up an appointment. This appointment will give us our selling opportunity and because we have taken away the obligation, the client will not have up a “wall” when we go to see them.

You may also notice that we offered a free gift to the client in return for their time. We do this because we know all about the law of reciprocity. For more on the law of reciprocity and other powerful laws of influence we use in telemarketing follow the link to consumer behavior.

This particular company knows that they need any decision makers present when they do their actual sales presentation, so we have made sure to include this in the script. We also qualified the client by asking about their work. Now we know before we even get to our appointment that this client is probably financially able to purchase from us.

Finally, you may notice that we never actually asked the client if they wanted to have an appointment with us. We simply led them through the script with good questioning techniques and the client feels compelled to go with the flow.

To write your own script, you must first decide what the purpose of your call is. This page on Telemarketing calls will help. Then you should make sure you are clear on how a client is influenced and how to best communicate over the phone. Follow the link to Good Communication Skills for more on this.
