What is an Outbound Call center? Do you know how it differs to an Inbound Call center? What type of work do the staff do there? If I want to be a Telemarketer, do I have to work in a Call center?
This and many other questions will be answered right here.
An Outbound Call center is a Call center where only Outbound calls are made. This means that the staff that work there on the phones are doing the work of a Telemarketer.
An Outbound Call center will normally be marketing their product or service to consumers. Sometimes this will be looking for new clients or getting new orders from existing clients. An Outbound Telemarketing room may also be appointment setting.
In this type of environment you may be doing a range of types of calls….from Cold Calling through to Warm Calling. You may be selling, asking for donations to charity, doing market research or setting appointments for a Consultant to visit with a client.
An Outbound Telemarketing room suggests that the business is pro-actively looking for customers and is using Telemarketing as a vital part in that process.
Inbound Call center
On the other hand, an Inbound Call center environment will usually be for the purpose of offering customer service to existing clients. In this case, the customer is calling the company for help, advice or to purchase your product or service.
An Inbound center may still sell products, but as the customer is calling you with an intention to at least enquire about your product, up-selling is more often than not the type of sales used here. That is, selling a bigger and better product or service than the client had initially enquired about.
Banks, Insurance companies, utility companies and the like are the types of institutions that normally run these types of call centers.
In an Outbound calling environment you will either be calling residences or businesses.
